    Nerd stuff ....

Check out my email address I used for this account and maybe I will tell you how I did it!

    Re: Nerd stuff ....

All you have to do is validate with one email and change your email afterwards. As long as an email is not in use it is valid.

    Re: Nerd stuff ....

I did not set it to validate email changes as I thought that would be a pain in the ass for users. I guess I will have to do that smetime now =)

    Re: Nerd stuff ....

Check out another site of mine going public next month:

    http://screcruiters.com.s18.dotnetsql.com

I can setup a test community server for you if you want. I can have it done and send you an address before you can reply back to this message.

    Let me know!

    Re: Nerd stuff ....

I actually have one setup already, but thanks. I am in the middle f polishing the next versin of the site and hope to have it up in a few days. I took sme time off to finish it next week. It is built on top of the CS core with a bunch of changes where I did not like what they were doing. It is a responsive core though, so that saved a lot of programming time. Again thanks for the offer.

    You think so?

Wait unti you get say 100 users... then a mess starts going on!

    Re: Nerd stuff ....

I perf tested the core with 2000 users on the system at the same time posting and had no perf issues. As long as you have your caching and indexes built properly things are all good. I would not use the base if I did not think the perf was within bounds. MS actually uses the blog and forums core for sites with 10k+ users as does the cs site, so I think it will handle our little spot =)

    Re: Nerd stuff ....

    For sure

Ah.. I don't know if I told you this... but ah... I'm a MCSD, along with 12 over certifications. I pretty much can handle anything you see or have seen.

    Just so you will know!

    Re: Nerd stuff ....

I am kind of a performance freak so I don't like to use anything that is underpwered for the job. I have written software since I was in High schol and have been stuck in situations where hardware was close to non-existant so I really became anal about taking performance seriously. Anyway, I won't use anything unless I get the source s that I can fix the areas that people skimp on.

    Re: Nerd stuff ....

Nothing wrong with getting your ass smacked and you not being the ass smacker!

I would rather be like Brother Bill and steal some half ass shit and make it my own. Being stuck on the old ways of coke-a-cola and an all nighter are over.

    Re: Nerd stuff ....

I agree with you, there is no reason to re-invent the wheel. I would rather spen my time writing features specific t pker instead of the core forums stuff. Forums have been around so long that there is no reason to write your own.

    Re: Nerd stuff ....

Let me know if you need some cisco router work. I just got my CCNA last week and I'm currently in the 4th Semster of the Cisco Acadmy. By the end of the 5th semster, they say we are ready for the CCNP.

    Re: Nerd stuff ....

By the way, as a Suggestion for the site

When you ask about the upcomming internet games, no one can respond as you have that setting turn off for everyone else other and administrators.

Just thought I would let you know... and it is the entire folder too.
