    SNG Challenge 10's Over

what the heck is this? congrats on your 100 ten dollar sng's being over but post your stats, how did you do. what did you start off with where did you wind up. is it a good enough bankroll to move up to the 20 dollar sng's and do it again.

This would make a great stat to check to see ifyou could progressively do this from 10 to 20 to 30 to 50 to 100 dollar sng's

    SNG Challenge 10's Over

yeah yeah yeah thank you very much :-)

It's funny reading your stats 23% ROI is good but then i look and think wow he spent how many hours to earn 230 dollars. Roughly how many hours of play did you put into this in order to complete all 100 games, how many fpp did you receive.

Your ITM was great at over 40% I'd like to see how these stats keep up if you did this again at the next higher buy in. I assume your skill would increase in the process but still something interesting to find out.

Well you have to figure 35 to 40 minutes per SNG and most of the time I was playing two at a time, so yes it is quite a few hours and your hourly rate is going to be complete crap at that limit. Your hourly rate will not even get close to respectable until I bet $50 sng's.

You would real suprised if you kept tract of all your sessions at poker and then looked at your hourly rate, it might actually be kind of depressing, but it all depends on how you look at it. Is it a hobby that actually makes a little money or it is second job where you need to make an hourly rate. Right now it is a hobby for me, once I move into the higher limit games it could become the second job that buys all my toys.

    I played 100 sng's and get 5 fpp's per sng so 500 total fpp's.

    SNG Challenge 10's Over

Makes sense and it's good you pointed that out about this is a hobby you can earn a little money over and in time build up to some nice extra toys and if we're fortunate along the way and get a few decent wins in MTT's or the 180 person sng's then you can take a faster leap forward occassionally. Yeah I probably wouldn't want to know my hourly wage playing this either, good thing I really enjoy it.......most days :-)

so how many fpp's do you have, going to buy anything cool with that yet :-) 500 points that's like a hat or something.

    SNG Challenge 10's Over

Ya not sure really have not thought about it. I was looking at the Isabella Mercier Poster but she has too many clothes on in that poster. I may just get a sweatshirt or something, whoring myself out as a walking billboard is always fun times. I know you said you were saving up for the chip set or something, how much is that?

I agree, too many clothes, same with the greg raymer poster he's wearing too many clothes in taht one too.

the chip set is 8k in fpp's. I'm at 5k now and I blew about 2k in tournaments over the past 2 years, oh well live and learn :-)

    SNG Challenge 10's Over

Just to mention more about your 100 ten dollar sng challenge that I like. It actually cost you 1000 + 100 for tournament entries and you started this with a bankroll of 100 dollars, so in reality your 100 dollars earned you 1100 worth of tournaments to play in. That is great entertainment value. Plus you did earn over 200 dollars in the process but if someone that was trying to learn and wanted to play 100 ten dollar sng's they may have to actually shell out 500+ dollars in order to complete them all like you did.

I just thought it was good to mention that with your 100 dollars to start this sng challenge you did win enoguh to play in 1100 worth of tournaments. There are lots of players that would just like to be able to play in that many tournaments off of 100 dollars.

    SNG Challenge 10's Over

Guess I never thought of that way. Personally if you were new to Poker or Online Poker for that matter I would start with $200 and do $5 sng's then when you got up to 300 or 400 bucks do 10 dollar ones. Also, if you wanted to do $10 ones don't start with less than 300 bucks. I basically had 100 in pokerstars and 200 in neteller just in case, I had a bad run to start out with.

    Re: SNG Challenge 10's Over

ehhh I see why you say 200 but the casual player comes to play poker online once or twice a week and they are happy if they get into one or two tournaments every now and then so why not just throw 50 dollars in your account, everyone can afford to throw 50 dollars into your account for entertainment once every few months and stick with the 5 dollar sng's and they may not be as comfortalble parting with 200 dollars into an online account.  My thought is any money I put into my poker account is considered gone and if i withdraw any, bonus.  So put in there the amount you don't care if you lost it tomorrow.  Would your play be affected if you put 200 dollars in there where you feel bad losing that much or 50 dollars where if you lost 50 you feel "so what"

5 dollar sng's is the perfect area for beginners because the way to succeed at these 5 dollar sng's is tight play, jus tget used to what are good starting hands and how to be a tight aggressive player and you should be profitable with just this style in these level, yes it will be a slow profit but this is the perfect level and way to play when starting out.  Plus 50 dollars gives you roughly 10 games, more if you cash in one or three.

They put those 1 dollar sng's on there, stay away stay away, unless you are bored and want to do silly stuff, don't go there and get mad at outdraws or people calling all in with no pair, nothing but undercards to the flop and no draws.  1 dollar tourneys are crazy play, I think playing there could do nothing but injure your game if you start playing like the players there.  If you can play tight enoguh to beat the 1 dollar game, move up to 5 dollar as fast as you can.

    Re: SNG Challenge 10's Over

Oh and maybe tha'ts how some people come up with their facts they say I won 1100, ok in reality they still have 100 dollars in their account but I guess over time they have technically won 1100 because they broke even playing in 100 ten dollar sng's. their profit is 0% though.

I will say this though, that is sitll a win, if you enjoy playing poker and you can break even over time and you're enjoying yourself, well that's a win because you are gambling with real money and not having to deposit anymore.  There is nothing wrong with that.

    SNG Challenge 10's Over

If they showed SNG wins on The Poker Db you would see that I have won 1323, just like when you look at someone's tourneys they might have won 20k in tournament money but how much did they spend to get that 20k and what is their actual profit.
