Hey, I heard a rumor there was going to be a show Thursday at 10pm at "select theaters".  We have to go to the first showing.  Does anybody know if we get blessed with one of the "select theaters"?

    Something worse than snake bite

    Monday, August 14, 2006; Posted: 5:25 p.m. EDT (21:25 GMT)

NEW YORK (Reuters) -- Working with snakes can be more hazardous than you thought -- but it's not their bite that's the problem.

"It's the poop," Jules Sylvester, head animal trainer for the new Hollywood movie "Snakes on a Plane" said Monday at a news conference to publicize the film.

"They will poop everywhere," he added.

But when snakes are on a movie set, everyone behaves, Sylvester said.

"It's ideal for the director," he said.

The movie, starring about 500 snakes and Samuel L. Jackson, opens in U.S. theaters Friday after receiving wide publicity on the Internet.

    Re: Snakes on a Plane

So what happens after this movie is over with?  I mean the only reason all the internet geeks went crazy over this movie was because they stopped making the star wars movies and there hasn't been a new star trek movie in forever and the lord of the rings movies are over with too.........the geeks have nothing else to hold onto so they were grasping straws with "snakes on a plane"

Seriously, i ask this because with the opening this friday I don't know what to do with myself afterwards, i need some direction.

I wanted to enjoy clerks 2 and be a clerks nerd, but that was a boring movie with a couple of funny scenes, they worked too hard at trying to be shocking, funny and clever, it just wasn't any of them.  It's not shocking when it's obvious you're trying so hard to push buttons and have people go "I can't believe they said that"

I think I heard in the rumor mill that there was another Star Trek being made so don't worry, the universe will balance itself back out.

    Re: Snakes on a Plane

Really?  I hope this is true.  Did you hear which ST cast was going to be in the movie?  I love a good sci-fi flick, but since I have three sci-fi series that I watch religiously I don't feel the need for a motion picture like some geeks.  With SG-1, SG-Atlantis, and BSG putting out 13 episodes each per year plus reruns I am not anywhere near withdrawl.  And I love how the two main characters from Farscape have now become two leads on SG-1.  I was sad to see Farscape go but it now lives on in my second favorite sci-fi tv series of all time.
